SIDNEY (August 27, 2015) – Doctors and respiratory therapists from leading healthcare networks and universities across the country will be headlining the respiratory vitals conference on October 1, sponsored by Wilson Health.
The event will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney, Ohio. The conference has been approved as a continuing education credit, approved by 6.17 CRCE by the AARC. The course number is 144856000 for respiratory therapists and nurses.
“With the changing climate of healthcare, the goal of this conference is to explore the many opportunities available to learn how the changes will affect our patients and the ability to perform the best quality of care,” said Steve Brabbin, Director of Cardiopulmonary Services.
Dr. Patrick Nana-Sinkam, M.D., attending physician and Director of Pulmonary Oncology in the Division of Pulmonary Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center; Dr. Anna Parkman, PhD, Director of the Business Graduate Programs at Ohio Dominican University and former respiratory care professor at the University of Charleston; and Dr. Thomas Payne, PhD, Professor and ACT Center Director for the Department of Otolaryngology and Communicative Sciences School of Medicine at The University of Mississippi Medical Center, will discuss a variety of respiratory topics. The topics include, novel approaches to lung cancer diagnosis and therapy, vaping and e-cigarettes, treatment alternatives in smoking cessation and the imposter phenomena in healthcare.
Two respiratory therapists, Karen Stewart, MS, RRT, and Edward Conway, RRT, will also be presenting. Stewart is the Market Manager for Transitional Care Services for Sound Physicians at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston, West Virginia and will be discussing transitional care services. Conway is the Clinical Manager at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and will be presenting on treatment advancements in cystic fibrosis.
