The Wilson Health Foundation was awarded a grant of $7,500 from the Monarch Legacy Fund. This grant money went towards the purchase of a new Immunohistochemistry Stainer (IHC). IHC Stainers are used to detect a variety of cancers including Lymphomas, Melanomas and Breast Cancer. This equipment provides more accurate staging and prognosis for our patients.
Staining is a commonly used medical process in the medical diagnosis of tumors. With this new equipment, Wilson Health has expanded the staining menu and is able to complete more stains in house. With testing done at the hospital pathologists are able to provide same day or next day results, easing the minds of our patients and their loved ones.
