The Wilson Health Foundation was awarded a grant of $1600 from the Student United Way. This grant money will go towards the purchase of HALO sleep sacks for the Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center.
Over 700 babies are born each year at the Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center at Wilson Health. A concern among our family birth center staff and new parents is education on safe sleep practices. The staff focuses on ensuring each family and/or caregivers are aware of these practices and able to implement them at their home, to reduce the risk of sleep-related infant deaths. To assist with this education each baby born at Wilson Health will receive a HALO sleep sack to ensure safe sleep.
