The Wilson Health Foundation celebrated the twenty-third ball with a “Denim and Diamonds” themed event at Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney, Ohio with 125 guests in attendance.
Including the 2017 proceeds of more than $39,000, total net of over $695,000 from this annual event has been raised for the Wilson Health Foundation’s general endowment fund to provide future funding for capital equipment and patient care needs.
Vance Stewart, chair of the Wilson Health Foundation Board said, "A great time was had by all in attendance. Everyone loved having the choice of "Denim or Diamonds" or a mixture of both. The evening was a great success and the surprise entertainment was fantastic."
Wilson Health Foundation cultivates philanthropic relationships that enhance Wilson Health’s ability to fulfill its mission and vision. Wilson Health has always been, and will continue to be, focused on the healthcare needs of the people in the communities we serve.
Wilson Health has a rich history of philanthropy and community support. Starting in 1913 when the Bluebird Social Club, which raised funds for a healthcare facility and then Harriet Scobey Stephenson, left funds to the county to build a hospital. In 1928, Shelby County Memorial Hospital Association received 27 acres of land from Judge Harrison Wilson. With additional fundraising, community leaders with vision and fortitude made Wilson Memorial Hospital a reality.
