Riverside Radiology and Interventional Associates (RRIA) and Wilson Health are proud to announce their partnership to provide subspecialized diagnostic interpretations and interventional radiology services to the residents of Shelby County and surrounding communities. Enhancements to Wilson Health’s current healthcare delivery system will span across multiple service lines, since diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology are such integral parts of patient care.
“We are very excited to bring world class diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services to our community,” said Greg Long, chief operating officer of Wilson Health. “RRIA is the largest private practice radiology group in the state. Our partnership with RRIA delivers clinically advanced medical imaging services for patients and their referring physicians who put their trust in Wilson Health.”
“As with all of our healthcare partners, we approach the Wilson Health relationship as a truly integrated strategic partnership, with the patient at the center of the equation,” said Douglas Reader, MD, president of RRIA. “To deliver exceptional patient care, it takes effective collaboration, communication, trust, and mutual respect between all healthcare providers, and we as a group focus on that as our critical success factor.”
Geoffrey Siesel, MD, will serve as Medical Director for Diagnostic Radiology Services for Wilson Health facilities. Dr. Siesel is a practicing radiologist who received his training from Case Western Reserve University and The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He performed his internship and residency at Indiana University Health – Ball Memorial Hospital and University of Toledo Medical Center, respectively, and has held previous positions with DePuy Orthopaedics, Johnson & Johnson, Inc., as well as University of Toledo Medical Center.
“Through this partnership, residents will receive imaging and interventional services of the same caliber as larger cities in Ohio without having to leave our community,” said Geoffrey Siesel, MD, Wilson Health Diagnostic Medical Director. “This is a significant step in enabling all Wilson Health service lines to enhance the experience for the patients we serve.”
Darick Jacobs, MD, a fellowship trained interventional and vascular radiologist with RRIA, will serve as Medical Director for Interventional Radiology Services. Dr. Jacobs received his fellowship training at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He performed his residency at David Grant USAF Medical Center.
“Interventional radiology brings an additional alternative and value added to the delivery of healthcare on both the clinical and economic sides of the equation.” said Dr. Jacobs. “With so much attention on the cost of healthcare to consumers, interventional radiology at Wilson Health can play a role in reducing cost through less invasive procedures that ultimately result in a faster recovery.”
As Medical Director, Dr. Siesel will work on site at Wilson Health and be supported by RRIA’s expansive subspecialized radiologist team of more than 90 physicians. In addition to providing diagnostic interpretations and consultation, Dr. Siesel will be working with Wilson Health’s administration to establish goals, objectives, and standards to ensure the highest level of program clinical quality and patient safety.
“Working together, we are providing the residents in our community with a wide array of innovative and leading edge diagnostic and interventional services,” said Long. “At Wilson Health, improving the health of the community is at the heart of our new mission. Our continued growth and expansion of health services, plus strong partnerships and collaborations, are all part of Wilson Health’s purpose to offer better healthcare to our communities, so people can spend more time doing what they love with those they love.”
