Wilson Health awarded the DAISY award for the first quarter of 2016 to Mandy Inskeep, RN. The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is part of the DAISY Foundation’s program to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. It shows the appreciation of all that nurses do to make a difference in the patients’ lives. Nominations can be made for nurses by patients, staff and visitors.
“Mandy has been a godsend to me on more than one medical situation,” said the nominee. “Mandy clearly explains the medical procedures I will be undergoing, helping to ease my mind and keep me as calm as possible. The medical care she provides is exceptional.”
Inskeep began her career at Wilson Health 18 years ago in the when she joined Wilson as a tech in the home health and hospice department. She joined the Cath Lab team at Wilson in 2013, where she works today. Inskeep graduated from Edison Community College in Piqua, Ohio, with her Associate’s degree in Nursing.
Wilson Health picks a new nurse once every quarter to honor with the DAISY award.
The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses was established by the DAISY Foundation, a not-for-profit, based in Glen Ellen, California. The foundation was started by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at the age of 33 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, a little known but uncommon autoimmune disease.
The care that Patrick and his family received from nurses inspired this means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patients’ families. Today, there are more than 1,400 healthcare facilities around the country honoring their nurses with the DAISY award.
