Larry Meyers recently joined the management team at Wilson Memorial as the new chief information officer (CIO). Meyers takes over responsibilities from Shelly Frasure who has been serving as the interim CIO for the last six months.
Meyers comes to Wilson Memorial with over 19 years of healthcare experience with a specialization in business, technical, information systems technology and project management. Prior to joining Wilson Memorial’s team, he was employed by The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton where he served as the IT customer support manager and was responsible for the operations of the telecommunications and help desk service areas. Meyers areas of expertise include: HIPAA privacy and security; electronic medical records (EMR); policy and procedure creation and review; customer support; and contract negotiation. Prior to that, he served as the Business Systems Analyst and provided implementation, consulting and customer support for various business and clinical information systems for the medical facility.
Meyers holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in project management from Wright State University in Dayton . He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Urbana University and an Associate of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology from Kettering College of Medical Arts. He is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI) and has successfully led project teams of 30 plus people.
Meyers resides in the Dayton area. He is the father of a 13 year-old son, Collen, an eighth grader, who is active in Boy Scouts, soccer and boat racing.
