Wilson Memorial Hospital is proud to announce a partnership with CrossChx, a leader in healthcare intelligence solutions that was founded with the support of the State of Ohio. On May 19, 2014, CrossChx installed their SafeChx system at all registration points, offering patients advanced medical identity theft protection and efficient patient registration while improving health outcomes and reducing the risk of medical errors.  This system is user friendly and already in use at several other health care facilities.

“With the widespread adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHRs), Patient Portals, and Health Information Exchanges’ (HIEs) across the healthcare industry, implementing safeguards to protect our patients’ health information is critical,” states Larry Meyers, chief information officer at Wilson Memorial Hospital.  “CrossChx offers one such solution to help mitigate the rising threat of medical identity theft.”

By scanning a patient’s finger, CrossChx instantly links the patient to their medical benefits so no one else can use them.   Neither CrossChx nor Wilson Memorial Hospital will ever view, store or scan your fingerprints.  Rather, CrossChx creates a unique ID based on points on your finger to offer you protection and privacy.  Using the system is voluntary, but it is the policy of Wilson Memorial to protect your medical identity and we encourage that all patients age five and above enroll in the system.

Both CrossChx and Wilson Memorial are proud to announce this partnership and begin offering Wilson Memorial’s patients advanced medical identity theft protection.
