A Wilson Memorial emergency medicine doctor has been named the 2010 Physician of the Year by Premier Health Care Services.

Jennifer Postlewaite, MD, received the honor on December 5, at the Premier Health Care Services holiday party at the Dayton Racquet Club. The organization recognizes one physician annually who has demonstrated excellence in emergency medicine, goes above and beyond for their patients, and demonstrates the core values of Premier Health Care Services.

Dr. Postlewaite has been an emergency medicine physician at Wilson Memorial for 11 ½ years. Since she started at the hospital, she has worked the night shift to help other fellow physicians who prefer to work daytime schedules.

“I am very honored to receive this award,” says Dr. Postlewaite. “I started my career at Wilson Memorial and could not have succeeded without the support of the hospital staff and physicians who have been my partners and colleagues over the years. This recognition is a true testament to them as well.”

This is not the first time a Wilson Memorial emergency medicine provider has been recognized by Premier Health Care Services for outstanding service. Ron Terrell, PA, received the Physician Assistant of the Year award in 2009 and Dr. Fred Haussman received the Physician of the Year award in 2005.

“Dr. Postlewaite is truly an amazing emergency medicine doctor and is deserving of this award,” says Dr. Haussman, medical director of emergency medicine services at Wilson Memorial. “She is a full-service physician who cares deeply about her patients, the community, and strives to maximize her contribution to both.”

Premier Health Care Services provides emergency medicine physicians and mid-level providers to service Wilson Memorial’s Emergency Department. With over 400 physicians, Premier Health Care Services is a leading regional provider in emergency medicine services.
