Shelby Oaks Golf Club in Sidney was the site for the 23rd annual Wilson Health Foundation Golf Classic on July 10. Net proceeds for the event were over $35,000, which will be used to build the Foundation’s general endowment fund. After this year’s event, the total net funds raised since inception in 1995 is $905,674.
137 golfers were registered to play in the event corporately supported by three Titanium sponsors: Advanced Composites; Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc.; and NKTelco.
Buckeye Ford Lincoln of Sidney sponsored a hole-in-one prizes for a two-year lease on a 2017 F150 Truck that went unclaimed.
Kettering Anesthesia Associates, Inc. sponsored brunch served prior to the 11:00 shotgun start. Beverages and snacks on each Par 3 hole were provided by Orthopedic Associates of SW Ohio. Slagle Mechanical sponsored the north course green fees. Plastipak Packaging donated bottled water for the outing. Dinner, underwritten by NKTelco, was offered at the end of play followed by awards and prizes.
Pat Thomas was the winner of the closest-to-the-pin prize, a one-week stay in a Westin Resort villa at Hilton Head courtesy of the Wilson Health Foundation.
The putting contest sponsored by the Wilson Health Foundation awarded four cash prizes to Brian Deal, Ed Treft, Brady Schroer and Mike Wilson.
Overall first place winners of the event included: the Advanced Composites team. Second place winners were the NKTelco team. Third place winners was the team of Dr. Rudy Bohinc, Dr. Robert Kiefaber, Dr Prashanth Kumar, Dr. Ajay Reddavari.
All golfers received various gift items and door prizes. Outstanding proximity prizes and those for longest putts and longest drives were awarded to 27 golfers. Donors of these prizes included African Safari Wildlife Park, Allison’s Custom Jewelry , Arrowhead Golf Club , The Bridge Restaurant, Buckeye Ford Lincoln, CAPA, CDW Healthcare, Cleveland Browns, Columbus Crew, Dayton Flyers, Elsass, Wallace, Evans, Schnelle & Co., LPA, Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc., General Construction Services of Ohio, Hampton Inn Sidney, Lochard, Inc., Ohio Bobcats, The Ohio State University Theatre, Primary EyeCare Associates, Shelby Oaks, Sidney Hometown Pharmacy, Sollmann Electric, Toledo Mud Hens, Toledo Walleye Hockey Club, Wilson Health Foundation and Wilson Health Occupation Health.
Many community volunteers and the Hospital’s maintenance department assisted with the event.
